Recently, the "27 Cup" — the first Chinese Pants Design Competition and the 2010 China Pants Design Trends Conference — took place in Zhengzhou. The event was warmly welcomed by Jiang Hengjie, Executive Vice President of the China National Garment Association, while Li Guosong, President of the Henan Garment Association, and Sun Jixian, Deputy Mayor of Zhengzhou, also attended the press conference.
The competition, themed "New Life, Pant Fashion," aimed to explore new directions in pants design and promote innovation within the apparel industry. A panel of renowned judges, including famous Chinese fashion designers, industry experts, authoritative critics, and influential figures from the fashion sector, evaluated the entries.
The grand prize for the competition was one gold award, accompanied by a cash prize of 100,000 yuan. In addition to this, the winner would benefit from the city's talent introduction policies, as well as free access to a 100-square-meter design studio in the Erqi District Fashion Innovation Industrial Park. The results of the competition are expected to be announced in mid-March next year.
Sponsored by several key organizations, including the China National Textile and Apparel Council, the China National Garment Association, the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, the Erqi District Government, the Zhengzhou Municipal Economic Commission, China Textile and Apparel Weekly, and the magazine, along with the Henan and Zhengzhou Garment Industry Associations, the event marked a significant milestone in China's fashion industry.
This initiative not only highlights the growing importance of pants design in contemporary fashion but also provides a platform for emerging talents to showcase their creativity and contribute to the evolution of Chinese fashion on a national stage.
