Spain's textile industry cuts costs through energy savings

Textile companies in Galicia, Spain, are able to cut production costs through energy-saving measures, according to surveys conducted by the Galician provincial government.

The survey analyzed the energy optimization of 17 textile companies in Galicia Province and found that these companies have the potential to cut energy consumption by 20-25%.

According to the report, the average energy consumption of the 17 textile companies reached 81,500 euros, accounting for 2.2% of their annual turnover.

Of all energy expenditures, electricity is the most expensive, followed by transportation fuels, diesel and natural gas, the report added.

This document proposes to optimize the power, by replacing the more efficient fluorescent tube can save 80% of the cost, adjust the pressure of the air compressor, and other measures.

According to this report, companies with more than 260 employees account for 2.9% of their turnover in energy, while small and medium-sized companies account for 1.4% and 1.5% respectively.
