oliver + s patterns sewn by frances suzanne

Ashley and Emily from Frances Suzanne are back with us today. If you've followed their earlier visits, you might recall their sewing projects for a trip to Disney and their exploration of heirloom techniques like tucks. Today, they're here to share their recent Oliver + S creations from the past year or so. Here they are! Hi Oliver + S readers! We’re thrilled to be back and sharing some of our latest projects with you. “Latest” is definitely a relative term these days, as life got in the way and we fell off the blogging wagon for a whole year. But rest assured, we didn’t stop sewing—just writing about it. We’ve got a gallery of outfits to show you today. First up is the Family Reunion Dress, which is always a favorite. The intricate tucks and top-stitching are simply beautiful, and it’s become somewhat of a tradition for our nieces' special occasions. ![Family Reunion Dress](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/35bcd808374583d1b817ec16c9b134eb.jpg) As avid Oliver + S fans, we also tried our hand at some new patterns this season. One of the highlights was the Popover Sundress, which we made for our oldest niece. She loved the design so much that the youngest niece begged for one too—and even asked for a matching doll-sized version. Who could say no? ![Popover Sundress](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/4d857ab3409f5919a815ec4cdd737d3a.jpg) Another standout piece was the Ruffled Halter, which we’ve adapted slightly by adding a jump rope sash. It’s such a versatile pattern and works beautifully for both casual and dressier occasions. ![Ruffled Halter](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/8453dba1cef28d881645acd0f707fda8.jpg) The Jump Rope Dress continues to be a staple in our collection, and this season’s floral version was a hit with our opinionated niece. It’s amazing how well the prints translate into wearable art. ![Jump Rope Dress](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/8f598babbbbfcf1f7bca021be5713d7b.jpg) Our “pattern rut” for the spring/summer season was the Pinwheel Slip Dress. We experimented by converting it into tops, which proved incredibly popular with the kids. They practically live in these outfits! ![Pinwheel Top](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/b08a68b731d7f034fba598610baf4135.jpg) As fall approached, we turned our attention to cooler weather patterns. The Hide-and-Seek Tunic and Playtime Leggings were among our favorites, especially since they were requested by our youngest niece as a repeat project. ![Hide-and-Seek Tunic](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/d9e96868bca34160dc47ec6a6d00cce9.jpg) And let’s not forget the Music Class Blouse + Skirt, which we adore for its attention to detail. It’s a classic piece that never goes out of style. ![Music Class Blouse](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/f27c1e54e2e2bde81ffca4209060c2ac.jpg) Looking ahead to winter, we found ourselves drawn to the Class Picnic Blouse. It’s quick to sew, uses minimal fabric, and the kids absolutely love it. ![Class Picnic Blouse](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/c4cdec1c52d4241aef7f55a366f66e3a.jpg) There’s always more to share, but we’ll save some stories for future posts. We’ve got 18 Oliver + S garments lined up for a second Disney-themed sewing project that we haven’t shared yet. In the meantime, feel free to follow our adventures on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to connect with fellow sewing enthusiasts! There’s always so much more to explore in the world of sewing, and we’re excited to keep sharing our journey with you. Until next time, happy sewing! (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
